I had a five day weekend. It was nice. It was like an inverted normal week, which consisted of doing the paltry amount of stuff I do on a Monday and Tuesday and then having Wednesday off (as is usual), Thursday off (as is unusual - it was a bank Holiday) and Friday off (as is usual) in addition to the real weekend (which, for those of you who like complete lists or are unsure how Germany works, is Saturday and Sunday, and I normally have off).
Sorry Toller fans, this blog aims to be a record of my year abroad in Germany in 2012-13, but who knows I might end up as the president of a revolutionary socialist city state.

Father Son bonding, Deutsche Bahn, Sun and other Surprises. An overdue roundup.
So it has been nearly a month since my last report on the occurrences surrounding my time here in abroad. Consulting my calendar (because remembering things from that long ago is tough), I have learned where I need to pick up from, so I shall:

- Its been Fastnacht (otherwise known as Fasching or Karnival depending on where you are) and I've been waiting for all the crazy to be over before attempting to explain it.
Today, being Ash Wednesday, marks a complete close
to Fastnacht, so reason 2 no longer stands and I feel I need to
avoid a beak from reason 1, so I'll take a stab at an
account of the last week.
