Münster not Munster

So its been a little while since I've posted an update on my exciting life, so here's a brief overview of what I've been up to:

Last weekend was road trip time, 8 hours up to Münster to play lacrosse at the WWU Münster's Nikolausturnier, to be precise.  This is 8 German Autobahn hours, so your average speed is about 80mph, peaking at over 100mph, while the people in the 9 seater bus explain why speed limits are a bad thing.

Once we got to Münster we drove through the very pretty middle of town to drop one of our number off where he was staying before heading off to our luxurious sports hall floor.  Upon arrival (at about 10pm) we discovered that we would have to be packed up and out of the place at 8 the next morning, so being serious and responsible athletes we did the only sensible thing and went out anyway.

The weekend then passed off without too much more incident, good lacrosse was played, very good lacrosse was played, beers were drunk, fun was had.  All in all an excellent time was had.  Some of it was even captured on film:

Erasmus is, of course, an educational experience so here's what the weekend taught me:
  • When a lacrosse club goes out, it will invariably track down the cheapest, nastiest bar in town and make it its own.
  • My geography of Germany north of Stuttgat (and probably south of it too) needs to improve, then I might be able to meet up with the other people who are in Germany from Bath.
  • I am not only permitted to, but capable of driving in Germany, on the autobahn, fast.  Car parks however, are a bit more of a challenge.
And the title?  Well, when lots of your friends are Irish, it helps to be clear.
